Gloucester HST Link.
DDC have registered a ‘fail to agree’ regarding the size of the mixed traction link at Gloucester. It had been previously agreed at DDC that 12 Drivers at Gloucester would learn HST’s and be placed in a mixed traction link. However DDC has been made aware that the number has increased to 16, and at the December 2011 timetable change, a further increase to 18 was made. A request was made that the link be returned to 12 lines, but management have refused to do this referring to the agreement that "all work is FGW work". DDC have no argument with this statement, but argue management have broken an agreement to consult over any further increase in link size, during which DDC would have raised concerns over a number of issues including, route and traction retention.
DDC did propose that the issue be resolved by Gloucester becoming a HSS Depot, but this was rejected by management, and the fail to agree has now been passed to the District Organiser, S. Moran, for resolution.
